How to host you own paint party?

Paint nights are the latest trend which are replacing non-creative and non-productive hangouts very effectively. It has gained popularity because of the fact you learn something new as well as take home your creation. Planning to host one in the comfort of your preferred location with chosen people?

Throwing a paint party is a great way to get all your friends together for a fun and creative weekend. A private paint party can be a birthday celebration or a date night or a bridal shower or just a casual laid back occasion to spend quality time with your friends and family while learning something new and creative and at the same time making your guests carry home the beautiful piece of artwork made by them.

Hosting a paint night needs some prior planning and preparation to ensure that the guests get the maximum out of it.

Here are few tips to host a paint night and to make it successful the best way possible:

•    Finalizing the date and time: Fix the date and time of your party at least two weeks in advance to let your guests have sufficient time to RSVP. Make sure the date and time don’t clash with any big event like concerts and sports. If you are including wine (or drinks) in the paint night, make sure to plan the party during or after happy hours. Also, if you are providing a meal, make it during lunch or dinner-time.

•    Choose venue wisely: Don’t spend huge on the location of the party, and hence choosing your home seems to be the most budget-friendly. Many hotels and restaurants rent out their spaces for large groups, if informed in advance.

•    Enlist your expected guests: Plan your guest list according to the space you can provide. Also, give first preferences to the ones who are interested in arts.

•    Choose food which is not messy: Include dry foods that are easy to eat by hand. Do keep in mind the expenses of the art supplies apart from the food you would serve.

•    Drinks should be as per preferences, age and theme: Keep in mind your guests' ages, tastes, and preferences, and also the theme of the event before choosing the drinks. For guests under 21 years, do make sure to have juices and soft drinks.

•    Art materials should be in variety or as per the theme: Allow enough painting materials options to let your guests choose from – acrylic colors, paint brushes, water cups, canvases, fabric paints, aprons and other essentials that may call for. Make sure to keep some extras for unexpected guests.

•    Organize the party space: Rearrange furniture etc to accommodate enough space for the painting area which should be separated from the eating and drinking space.

•    Cover the tables and floors with newspapers or protective layers: This ensures paint doesn’t stain them. You may use butcher paper, table clothes, or other fabric you would be comfortable with throwing away after painting.

•    Be a good host: Serve food, drinks and art materials equally among the guests. Keep simple paint ideas that your guests might replicate. Also, keep them encouraging and compliment them once they are done.

•    Finishing up and cleaning: Part with your guests with nice gestures and by handing over the artwork they created. Clean up the space – keep the leftovers in fridge, wash dishes or throw away paper plates. Don’t forget to clean the paint brushes and palettes immediately so that they can be used for the next party.

These things, if kept in mind, can make up for a great private paint party with exciting creativity and organized hosting.
